Greetings from the Rotary Club of Keighley.

For those who don’t know us, Keighley is in Yorkshire, between Bradford and Skipton, in the North of England. Although the Club is almost 75 years old, our membership reflects the population of the town and is active, involved and enthusiastic and growing!

We welcome to our website all those who want to learn about our Club or Rotary International in general.

Our weekly Club news and our Club Diary show the range of activities in which we, and the wider world of Rotary International, are involved.

We have proved our ability to move swiftly to help in an emergency but equally we provide help locally on a regular basis; for instance with the local hospice, Airedale General Hospital and the local blind community.

We work for many good causes both in practical ways and as money raisers.

Our Club is part of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland, which is in turn part of Rotary International, a world-wide organisation which puts into practice the Rotary motto ‘Service above Self’. Polio Plus, a campaign to eradicate polio throughout the world is just one example of the work of Rotary.

The Rotary theme for 2007/08 is ‘Rotary Shares’. My aims for the year 2007/08 are to sustain and increase membership and to share the ideals of Rotary with new members and the community whilst sharing fellowship with each other.

The Club welcomes visitors who want to learn more about us and hope that we will meet you one day at one of our Club meetings.

Jim Staton, President 2007 / 2008
